Certain Affinity Heads to Video Games on the Hill

Each year, the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) hosts Video Games on the Hill, a showcase for members of Parliament and Hill staff, including Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Andy Filmore, Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure & Communities. As the voice of Canada’s video game industry, the ESAC serves its membership by engaging with government, public relations, and policy stakeholders across the country and abroad. ESAC is proud of its role in supporting the growth of Canada’s video game industry and we were overjoyed to have Jayson Hilchie, President and CEO of ESAC and Michelle Liem, Board Chair of ESAC there to lead the effort.

In October of 2019, we were officially welcomed as the newest member of the ESAC, following the opening of our Toronto studio. Being able to take part in this event alongside members such as Ubisoft Canada, Nintendo Canada, EA, PlayStation Canada, and Xbox Canada is an absolute honor, and we’re proud to have been welcomed in.

Throughout the event we showcased our various development talents via playable demos, handed out a few of our custom Texas / Canadian flag pins, and even brought along a familiar face (well, a familiar helmet at any rate) for some photo ops with attendees. Being able to celebrate alongside our local industry peers while creating job opportunities in Canada via our new studio has been incredibly fulfilling, and we can’t wait to continue our expansion.

We’ll see you next year!
