Test Manager



The Test Manager position is one that demands extreme attention to detail and the iron will to enforce a quality bar that is always just out of reach in a very demanding and high pressure environment. The Test Manager must be the unwavering voice advocating quality for all Certain Affinity's products. The ideal candidate can manage multiple outsourcing teams for multiple projects while getting their own hands dirty on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generation, implementation, support, and execution of Certain Affinity's quality strategies, processes, and practices
  • Generation of both quantitative and qualitative testing feedback
  • Support development team with testing, reporting, and analysis initiatives
  • Manage off site teams for service outsourcing such as testing, compliance, and localization
  • Organize and support focus testing both on site and off
  • Organize, support, and enforce internal play testing initiatives
  • Execute on submission schedules
  • Publisher and 3rd party status reporting and advocating
  • Bug DB administration

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years experience as a senior or lead tester associated with AAA titles
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Constant multitasking
  • Master of all things MS Office
  • Xbox 360 test experience

EXTRA CREDIT

  • Levitation
  • Publisher liaison experience
  • Automated testing creation / implementation a BIG plus
  • Experience with TCRs, TRCs, and other submission criteria
  • The more platforms with active experience the better



Senior Graphics/Engine Programmer

The ideal candidate will need to be able to manage their time wisely as they solve programming challenges with smart and efficient solutions. Applicants must also be able to work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines while being self-directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Writing, debugging and optimizing code for game software (primarily XBOX360, but other platforms may be involved)
  • Architecting and maintaining the rendering/shading systems
  • Developing tools and processes for our asset creation pipeline
  • Quickly learning existing code and libraries and able to make intelligent changes
  • Working with artists and designers to achieve challenging visual goals

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, mathematics or similar
  • 3 yrs programming experience in C++
  • Passion for games and graphics technology
  • Strong 3D math skills
  • Experience with advanced shader techniques in HLSL or similar
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to focus and work without micro-management
  • Positive, respectful, team-oriented attitude
  • Must be able to work in the USA.

EXTRA CREDIT

  • Agile development team experience
  • Console graphics programming experience, especially XBOX 360
  • Autodesk 3DSMax plug-ins and Max scripting
  • Experience writing highly optimized graphics code, multi-pass shaders and render targets and advanced techniques for real-time lighting and shadows
  • Using PIX to debug and optimize graphics code
  • Low-level understanding of graphics hardware
  • Experience with multi-threaded game engines and rendering systems.



Community Marketing Manager



Certain Affinity is seeking a multi-talented individual to drive the marketing of our company and our games and to build and support our online community. As a Marketing Manager this person will be the main point of contact in PR and marketing discussions with our publishing partners, working with them to craft community-focused strategies. This person will also drive brand-building and marketing for our own IP, including product naming and trademark registration, logo creation, and internal marketing campaigns. As a Community Manager this person will be responsible for the management of all web site content, and will own our company and product web sites and conceive of and drive site updates, modifications, and enhancements. This person will also be on point for community relations, moderating company forums, overseeing and representing the company on external forums, managing community-focused public relations, planning and running community events, and maintaining the configuration of our online matchmaking systems. Like everyone at the company, this person will assist with gameplay and functional testing as his or her schedule allows.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience creating and running community-focused marketing campaigns
  • Experience building community web sites, from concept to creation
  • Knowledge of HTML and familiarity with standard web technologies (CSS, CMS, database-driven sites, etc.)
  • Well versed in the world of online console gaming
  • Strong, versatile writing ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-managed, self-motivated, and highly ambitious
  • Quick, smart sense of humor

EXTRA CREDIT

  • Brand building experience, including product naming, logos, and trademarks
  • Advanced web development skills (Flash, databases, usability design, etc.)
  • Proven experience making things happen on a shoestring budget
  • Web and print graphic design skills
  • Strong sense of visual composition (background in photography a plus)
  • Advanced creative writing skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with online gaming communities
