Happy New Year everyone! Age of Booty received some great recognition in end of the year roundups. Here are a few of the more noteworthy and amusing:

• GamesRadar’s Officially Annual Platinum Chalice Awards 2008 - One of several winners in the aptly named “DLCFTW” category.
• 1Up Reader’s Choice Awards 2008 - Nominated for Best Strategy Game, and up against some heavy hitters. (Winners haven’t yet been announced.)
• Joystiq Best of the Rest: Kevin’s Picks of 2008 - “If you love piracy and giving your enemies a broadside from your galleon, Age of Booty is just about perfect.” Nuf said.
• Gamers Daily News Review - In case you missed it, this was one of the most positive reviews yet. “Rating 9.6 – One of the highest scores I’ve ever given and worth every point. This game fires all cannons on target and will be plundering your free time for years to come.”
• NooBTooB’s 2008 Game of the Year Awards - Age of Booty was one of their favorite downloadable games. Fast forward to 25:40.
• Sweep’s Blog: ANTI-GOTY!! F**K YEAH!! - Sweep, we love ya.
• IGN Best of 2008 - Age of Booty won “Best Strategy Game” in the downloadable category.
• The Giant Bomb Golden Anniversary Year-End Awards Extravaganza Spectacular 2008 - Last but not least, Age of Booty was one of Soulja Boy’s nominees for the “Award for Games To Play If You Drink And Get Drunk or Smoke And Get High” award. Did we mention that Age of Booty is rated E for everyone? Yes, everyone includes Soulja Boy.

If you haven’t downloaded Age of Booty on Xbox LIVE Arcade or the PlayStation Network yet, what are you waiting for? It’s just $10, less than a movie and a tub of popcorn. Oh, right, the Windows version. We have it from a reliable source that your wait is nearly over. Hang in there, you’re in for a treat–we’ve improved the game’s controls and interface considerably since the public beta! We’ll also have some news in the near future about updates on the way for the XBLA and PSN versions.
